Here you can find out what has been happening with Bob, Denise, and
Nikki.
12/29/01 - Bob spent some time in the back yard. Did some clean up that you can see on the Landscaping page, and laid some brick that you can see on Our House page. Please check out the bricks and let us know what you think before we go to the permanent stage.
12/28/01 - Bob went to Home Depot and Radio Shack and got some more X-10 stuff with some of his Christmas gift certificates. You can see how we're doing on our X-10 page.
12/25/01- Christmas afternoon, we went to Denise's sister's house. Got together with her family and had our fourth Christmas. More cool stuff, but no pictures. Had a great time.
12/25/01 - Merry Christmas!!! We got up and opened our presents. We all got some really neat stuff. Bob just got so excited about all the presents, that he forgot to take any pictures. Did manage to get a couple before we got started. You can see them on the Holidays page.
12/23/01 - For our "Second Christmas" we all went over to Bill and Mary's. We had a very nice dinner and opened some more presents. Had a very nice time, but sorry, no pictures.
12/22/01 - Posted lots of new pictures. Check out the Site Updates page to find them all.
12/22/01 - Robbie, Wendy, and Lisa came over for dinner and the opening of some Christmas presents. Took a couple pictures, and you can see them on the Holidays page.
12/22/01 - Pool temp. = 48 degrees!
12/16/01 - Bob spent most of the day laying a new concrete slab for the grill. You can see how it turned out on Our House page.
12/14/01 - We went out and bought our Christmas tree. Looking forward to getting it decorated this weekend. We'll try to get some pictures of it posted soon.
12/13/01 - Our computers were attached by the Nimda virus. Spent a lot of time cleaning that mess up.
12/10/01 - Sunday we went to the Cardinals vs. Redskins game. The Cards lost (no surprise) but Nikki was great in the half time show. Our buddy Toby took pictures, and you can see some on Nikki's Picture page.
12/09/01 - Saturday, we took Nikki to her cheerleader practice. She got to meet a couple of the Phoenix Cardinals. Bob went to Home Depot and bought 800 pounds of concrete to use when we make the slab for the new grill. Hope to get started on that soon.
12/08/01 - Friday night we went to our company Christmas party. There were a lot of cameras around so maybe we'll be able to post a couple of them to show you all just how good of a time we had.
12/05/01 - We had a nice mellow evening last night. Went to Blockbuster, rented a DVD. Lit a fire, for the first time, in our fire place and sat back and watched The Legend of Bagger Vance. It was a good movie, and if you get the chance to watch it, it would be worth your time.
12/02/01 - Had a Birthday party for Denise's mom. See a couple pictures on the Family page.
We also heard from Matt. He seems to be having a good time, and said that he seems to be in a very good unit, working for good people. He did mention that he could use some warm clothes for Christmas.
12/01/01 - Denise had to work, so Bob played golf with Toby, Ken, and Mike at Rolling Hills. The we went Christmas shopping. 'Twas a busy time of the year to shop.
11/27/01 - Bob spent the day redoing the web server. This will allow us to do more fun stuff. Also, the palm tree guys came back and picked up all the stuff that they cut up. No pictures yet, but there will be.
11/25/01 - We spent the weekend putting up Christmas stuff. Got some good pictures of the outside lights on the Holiday page.
11/24/01 - Bob went to play golf with Toby, Ken and Chad at the Coldwater Golf club in Avondale. Cable guy came back and fixed our internet connection, so the site and email is back on line.
11/23/01 - We went to Denise's brothers house for Thanksgiving. There were quite a few people there, and as usual, we stuffed our selves beyond reason.
11/22/01 - Bob took off work early so that he could meet the cable guy. We
broke down and got cable. Just the basic stuff, but it sure is nice to see a clear
picture. One problem, when the guy installed the TV, he messed up our internet connection,
so the site and our email was down.
We also had some guys come over to take out the palm trees in the back yard. Took a couple
pictures of their progress. Check them out on the Landscaping
page.
Then Toby came over. He and Bob went to the driving range, hit a few golf balls, then came
home and had a wonderful spaghetti dinner. After that, Toby opened a couple presents that
we got him for his birthday. Click the button to see a picture.
11/17/01 - Matt called from Korea. He made it there safely with no problems in route. He is going to be stationed on Youngsan Garrison, which seems to be located in or very near Seoul. The Eighth Army Headquarters is there, but it still sounds like he is going to be doing the type of stuff he wants. His first impression is that it is a serious unit. He'll be spending one third of his time in training, one third "in the field" practicing his training, and one third patrolling in a car. He sounded good, and happy.
11/17/01 - Bob went to play golf with Ken at the Oasis Golf Resort in Queen Creek. Nikki and Denise went shopping for some new bedding for Nikki's bed and went to see the movie "Shallow Hal"
11/16/01 - Nikki went to her first school dance at her new school. She said that she had a really good time. She even said that she is really happy with her new school.
11/10/01 - While Bob's folks were here, we did a project. We re-wired the shed, installed another flood light in the back yard and also a ceiling fan. Check out some pictures on the Our House page.
11/09/01 - We all went to dinner at Bucca De Pepe's (or something like that). What a fun time. Think that we had enough food on the table that we could have fed half the state of Arizona. Very good stuff.
11/8/01 - Bob's Mom and Dad came to visit.
11/4/01 - Matt and Bob managed to get out all the stumps that were left after our major attack on the plant life around the house. We'll get some pictures taken soon and get them posted. Just didn't have the energy after the lake trip yesterday.
11/3/01 - Went to the lake. It is sure great to live in Phoenix. Took some pictures of Matt on the Raider, check them out on our Lake Pictures Page.
10/31/01 - Halloween. Was a slow night at our house. Not a lot of trick-or-treaters. Could have been because the World Series was on, or maybe people were a bit leery with all the stuff that has been happening. But we did get a couple pictures of our favorite goblins. Check them out on the Holidays Picture page
10/30/01 - Matt and Nikki carved a couple really neat pumpkins. We didn't have the digital camera at home, but we did get a couple pictures with a disposable. Check back in about a year, and maybe we'll have the pictures developed by then, and have them posted to the site. :)
10/28/01 - Matt arrived last night, sure is good to see him. Denise and Bob are going to the World Series tonight, with the Diamondbacks leading the series 1-0.
10/27/01 - Bob went golfing with Toby and his Dad (Jack) at The 500 Club. Had a great time, shot some decent golf, and Toby took some pictures. You can check them out on his Picture page.
10/23/01 - WE'RE GOING!!!!! Hard as it is to believe, we won a pair of tickets! So, look for us on the big screen during Sundays game.
10/22/01 - The Diamondbacks are going to the World
Series! Our company has 6 tickets to each home game, and they are doing a drawing to see
who gets them. So everyone keep your fingers crossed that we win a pair.
10/21/01 - Bob went out and played golf for the first time in a very long
while. Had a good time, and looks like he may be getting serious about the game again. Who
knows, maybe we'll even have to set up a golf page on the site to keep track of his game.
10/15/01 - Managed to get all the landscaping stuff loaded up and taken to the dump yesterday. Check out the results on the Landscaping page.
10/13/01 - Did a lot of work in the front yard Saturday morning. You can
check out our progress from the Landscaping
page. Went to Robert's birthday party in the late afternoon, but didn't take our camera.
Wendy has one of those disposable cameras, so maybe at some time we'll be able to scan
them and get them on the site. One thing we can say is that the Grandson is growing!
10/11/01 - Heard from Matt. He said that his leave has, once again, been
approved. He should be leaving his post somewhere around the 26th of this month and should
be home somewhere around the 28th. He also made it sound as though he was pretty sure that
they wouldn't defer him again. The only thing that might stop his departure is if the Army
puts out another "Stop Loss." That would mean that no one would be leaving, not
just him.
Been neglecting the site as of late. See if we can't
catch you up a bit.
10/6/01 - No new news from Matt. We're still hoping that he can come home this month. Just
have to wait and see. With the stuff that has happened of late, just don't know.
Got a progress report on Nikki from her new school. So far so good, she is doing really
well.
Had to put new tires on the 4 Runner. No pictures as they are the same as what was one it
before.
Also had to put a new battery in the Tahoe. No pictures here either, as a new battery
isn't all that exciting to look at.
Decided that we want to get new A/C units. The ones now are OK, but after the last
electric bill, we decided that we can't afford to keep them. So we had an A/C dude to the
house to tell us what would be best for the house. He gave us a couple suggestions. Should
see more about them once we decide which way we want to go.
Last weekend we went to Laughlin. Go to the Places
page to read a bit of a write up on our trip. Even included a couple pictures.
Spent a lot of time in the back yard this weekend. Decided to create a Landscape page to keep track of our progress.
9/25/01 - Got another call from Matt. He was in the process of signing out of the post and getting ready to leave when they informed him that his departure had been postponed for at least 30 days. Could be as long as 60 days. Bummer.......
9/17/01 - Got a quick call from Matt. Still busy, but still not going anywhere.
Went to the Lake Friday night, and came back Saturday. Check out the trip and pictures on our
Lake Pictures page.On Sunday we did some cleaning of our camping stuff after our wet trip. Also we worked on getting the shelves installed in the office closet. Hope to finish them tonight, and maybe even get some pictures of them posted on the site.
9/13/01 - Got an email from Matt. He is very busy, working 16 hours days. He can't leave the base with it at it's high security state. Have to hope that things settle down so that he can come home as planned.
9/10/01 - This weekend was a fairly mellow one. We installed the new
lights that we had bought right after we bought the house. You can see them on Our House page.
We also made a trip to Home Depot and bought Bob a new toy....a table saw. Got a pretty
good deal on it. It isn't anything real fancy, but it'll work for the type of stuff we'll
be doing. Bob spent most of the day Sunday putting it together and tuning it up.
The main reason that we went to Home Depot was to buy the stuff to build shelves in the
office's closet. We just have so much stuff to store, that we thought that might be a good
place to stuff things. Hope to get them installed this weekend, so check back next week to
see the pictures of how it turns out.
9/7/01 - Our pool guy said that we should get a pool vac. So on Tuesday we went to Paddock Pools and picked one up. Last night we put it together and tossed it in to the pool. We then spent the rest of the evening watching it crawling around the pool. Looks like it is going to do a pretty good job.
9/4/01 - The fence guy finally got the fence up, yesterday. Took him quite a bit longer than he thought it would. Turned out pretty nice though, check out the pictures of it on Our House page.
9/1/01 - Went to a new lake this weekend. You can see some pictures and a short write up on our Lake Pictures page.
8/31/01 - The new bedroom furniture got delivered. You can see a couple pictures on Our House page.
9/5/01 - We got the site up and running on our server in the new house! Been a long time coming, but we did it. Now we'll try to update this page to let you all know what has been happening.
8/30/01 - We signed the papers on Monday to sell the old house. On Tuesday, we did a walk through with the buyer. Things went well and the house closed yesterday. So, that's a done deal. Haven't really been doing much around the new house. Last night we took down the temporary gate and fence, as the permanent one should be installed today. Nikki's new bedroom set, and our new bedroom set should be delivered today. We'll be sure to get some pictures of the new stuff so we can get them posted on the site. Bob has been spending a lot of time on the home computers. He got our mail server up and running, so our spawnfamily addresses are permanent now, and can be used to send us email. The addresses are listed on our Contact Us page.
8/27/01 - Went to the lake on Saturday. Just the three of us went, and we took the Raiders. Had a great time together, we sure needed the break. Sorry no pictures from this trip.
On Sunday, we went to the old house and picked up most of the rest of the stuff there. Only thing left, is the bike and a couple lamps. Going to get that stuff tonight.
We have an appointment to sign the papers on the sell of this house today. An appointment for the final walk through tomorrow. Should be funded on Wednesday, and we'll be done!
Nikki's new bedroom set is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday.
The new fence is scheduled to be installed on Thursday, too.
8/20/01 - Did a lot of stuff around the house. Took some pictures to post on the site, check them out on Our House picture page.
Dropped Nikki off for her first day of school. She actually seemed excited! First day in a new school, SO many people to meet!!! She went a little early, as she wanted to try out with the choir teacher. We'll let you know how that goes.
8/17/01 - Went to the Open House at Nikki's school last night. Seems like a good place, and her teachers all seemed very nice. We're looking forward to a good school year.
8/16/01 - Toby brought the Raiders to the new house last night. For now they are parked in the garage. Do you realize that also means that we've managed to get enough stuff out of the garage so that we could park them there.
8/14/01 - Brought the boat home last night. Looks good sitting there next to the house.
8/13/01 - Went by the old house Saturday and did some maintenance type stuff to it as requested by the buyers. Still a thing or two to do, but they shouldn't take too much time. Think we'll be glad when that is all done.
On Sunday, we just worked on getting stuff put away. We think that for everything we get put away, someone comes by and drops off two more things! Bob started a project that he now wishes he would have skipped for now. Check it out on Our House picture page.
8/10/01 - The tree guy finally came. You can see a picture of the new look on Our House picture page. The boats are on the way.
8/9/01 - Went "pre-shopping" for bedrooms sets, managed to make it to three stores and found a couple that we liked. Once we got home, we took the night off from unpacking and stuff. It was nice to sit around the new place.
8/8/01 - Bob installed the new towel racks and stuff in the bathroom last night, pictures soon to follow. Denise managed to get almost all of the boxes that were stacked in the dining room unpacked. We went back to the old house, and found Midnight. Took him to the new place, and he seems right at home.
8/7/01 - Bob took the day off and took Nikki to the shot clinic to get her two shots for school. Then we went to Home Depot and picked up a couple things. Once we got home, we put Nikki's basketball hoop together, what a pain!!!! Managed to get the new mail box put up too.
8/6/01 - Spent the day getting thing put in their place. The garage is much emptier, but still has a lot of stuff in it. Also put up the temporary fence to keep the dogs out of the pool. Installed the new door locks, but having trouble with cutting the holes for two of the new dead bolts. The present holes in the doors are too small for the new dead bolts, so we'll have to think about this one, and figure out a way to make the holes bigger to fit the new dead bolts. Put up the shelves in Nikki's closet.
8/5/01 - We moved! We are now staying in the new house. If you don't get an email from us in the next few days, send us one so that we can give you our new phone number and address.
Got moving around 9:00am and finished up around 6:00pm. It was just the three of us, and thank goodness there wasn't a lot of big heavy things to move. Most of the stuff was parked in the garage. Some of the bigger stuff went into the house. As we get the chance to clean the stuff up, it will get moved into the house. It was tough, but we got it done! One exception, one wall unit was just to big to move on our own, so we'll have to wait until we can get some help.
We did take a couple pictures. You can find them on Our House picture page.
8/2/01 - Put up a temporary gate, and the fence will go in soon. Denise start really packing last night in preparation for out planned move of this weekend. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for no rain.
Heard from our realtor, and the buyers accepted out counter on the repair stuff. That was a relief. So once we get everything out, we'll be doing a bit of repair work on the old place.
8/1/01 - Went shopping again last night. We discovered that the shower in the master bath is over sized. Made things rather difficult. We ended up buying a temporary shower pole and curtain. We'll have to do some serious looking, and maybe even special order the permanent shower curtain and pole. Oh well, makes things interesting. Got an install date of August 13th for our internet access. So hopefully not too long after that, we'll be able to move our web site and email onto our own servers.
7/31/01 - Went by the fence place and put a deposit down for the dog fence. Looks like not until the week of the 29th of August before it can be installed. After that, we made another trip to Home Depot. We bought some new door handles and deadbolts, some new closet poles, shower poles, and air filters. We plan a trip to another store tonight to get some more goodies, only problem is once all the goodies are bought, they have to be installed.......actually that is going to be a lot of fun, too!
7/30/01 - We had a pretty busy weekend. We got all the stuff moved out of storage and into the new house. With the help of a buddy, we managed to get it all moved on Saturday. Plus we moved the leather furniture and a couple other pieces out of the old house. Then Sunday we arranged stuff and even managed to get some of if put away. Going to be a very long process. Also Saturday, the pool guy came by and installed the new pool filter and redid a bunch of stuff. Should be set there for a long time. We found out that the fence for the dogs isn't going to be installed until late next month. So we went to Home Depot and bought the stuff to put up a temporary fence. While we were there, we also bought some new lights for the hall way, and a new chandelier for the dining room. The last thing we did Sunday, was to measure a bunch of stuff so that we can make another trip to Home Depot and buy the stuff to replace all the locks, install some closet poles, and a couple other minor things. Sorry no pictures to show the progress, but we were to tired to hold up the camera!
Our Realtor came buy on Sunday. He had a list of things that the buyers of the old house want us to do, as a result of the home inspection that was done a week or so ago. A lot of the stuff that they want done is pretty minor, but some of it would require some major work, or lots of money. So, we did a counter offer on their requests and he should be submitting it to their realtor today. Don't know how long it'll be before we hear back, but it looks as though we'll be putting in some more time at the old house, aside from just packing.
7/27/01 - We went swimming in OUR pool last night!
7/26/01- Bob's Birthday was yesterday, so after work we went out to dinner at the Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Parlor. We ate light sandwiches and a bunch of ice cream. Then we went to the new house where Bob opened his presents, and Nikki went for a short swim. What a nice relaxing evening. It counted so much because we haven't had many of those lately.
7/25/01 - Yesterday was a busy day at the old house. The appraisal was done. The termite inspection was done (no termites). The solar panels and the air conditioning units were inspected. Then, first thing this morning they inspected the spa. So, things are happening on the sale of the place.
7/24/01 - Got a quote to remove the pine tree that is in the way of the RV gate at the new house. We said go for it, so it should be gone by the end of this week, or the beginning of the next.
7/23/01 - Had Nikki's 14th Birthday party on Saturday. Think everyone had a great time. Took a bunch of pictures, and you can find them from Nikki's Family Pictures page.
7/21/01 - Did some stuff around the new house in preparation of Nikki's Birthday Party. Trimmed a bunch of stuff in the back yard.
7/20/01 - We picked up the keys yesterday afternoon. Then, of course, we went to our new house and hung out for a while. As one might expect, we mentally created a list about a mile long of all the things that we want to do to personalize the place. We very excited about getting moved in. With Nikki's Birthday party tomorrow, we won't have much of a chance to do much but get the place ready for that, and I imagine that we'll be beat from that on Sunday, so we may only get to piddle around, but it'll be fun! The new fridge, washer and dryer should be delivered today.
7/19/01 - We went to the title company yesterday and signed all the papers to buy the house. Now all we're waiting for is the mortgage company to cut the check and the house will be ours!
7/19/01 - Nikki went to the orthodontist yesterday for her monthly check up and tightening. They said she is doing very well with them. She is brushing well and generally doing a good job taking care of her teeth.
7/16/01 - Looking now like our close date will be Wednesday the 18th. Funded on the 19th, and that is when we should get the keys. We getting pretty excited!!!!!
7/15/01 - We went by the new house and took a BUNCH of pictures. Bob also drew up a basic floor plan. Go check them out here!
7/15/01 - Spent a lot of time yesterday shopping for a new Refer, Washer, and Dryer. Well, after sleeping on it, we decided to go fork over the money. We set things up so that they will be delivered either Friday or Saturday, depending on when we get the keys.
7/15/01 - Nikki came home today. After we picked her up at the airport, we went to Brunch with her Grandma and Grandpa at Bill Johnson's. She has been on the phone since we got home!
7/14/01- Tom the pool dude came buy the new house. He took a look at the pool and said that most stuff was OK. One thing he did recommend was to get a new filter. The pump was good, but the filter needs to be replaced. Once we close on the house, he said he get it ordered and installed. While he is at it, he is going to fix some of the other minor things he found.
7/13/01 - They accepted our counter offer!!!! So our house in now in escrow. They requested a close date of 8/28/01 in the original offer, so assuming that is a good date, it'll give us over a month to get moved.
7/12/01 - Looks like we have a close date on the new house. July 20th, 2001. To cool!!
7/12/01 - We got an offer on our house last night. We don't totally agree with everything on it, so we're making a counter offer, and they should get it sometime today. Don't know how long it will be before we hear back from them, so keep your fingers crossed.
7/11/01 - Had a great long weekend. Made a trip up to Lake Powell. This lake is on the Arizona-Utah border and has over a 1000 miles of shoreline. Check our trip on from the Laketrips page.
7/11/01 - The pool guy went over and took a look at the pool. We have an appointment with him on Saturday to talk with him about it. He did say the all the pine trees in the back yard could be a bit of a problem, and he wants to go over the pump with us a bit more.
7/11/01 - The Title insurance has been OK'd.
7/5/01 - The appraisal is happening today.
7/5/01 - The Termite inspection of the new house should be done today.
7/1/01 - Looks like we have a good line on the house we looked at last weekend. We decided to put in an offer, and the sellers accepted it. We then talked with our Mortgage guy, and he said that we could do the loan. Our realtor said we should do a whole house inspection, so we did, The inspector was impressed with the place. Even though it is an older house, it is in absolute great shape. The only things he found we some minor cosmetic things, some weather stripping stuff, and a gage or two that didn't work on the pool pump. So, we are now in that "buying" a house mode, and we'll keep you posted on the progress here on the site.
Our Mortgage guy should be ordering the appraisal today.
Sunday, when some people came by to look at our house, we drove by our new dream house and took some pictures from the street. I've posted them on the site. Take a look!
Still no bites on our house. People are still coming by and looking, but still no offers.
7/1/01 - Went to the lake this weekend. Took some friends for the first time, and we all had a great time. Posted a couple pictures from the trip on the Laketrips page.
6/24/01 - Nikki gave us a call. She is having a great time hanging out with Gary, Marlis, Connor and Jamie. If you'd like to contact her, use her new email address of nikki@spawnfamily.com
6/24/01 - We spent a lot of time driving around in the neighborhood that we'd like to move into. We went into several open houses and we think we have found the house that we'd like to get. Here are some pictures of it. More information to follow as we get it.
6/23/01 - We watched Space Cowboys. Really enjoyed the movie, so we've added it to Bob's DVD wish list.
6/27/01 - Looks like Toby got everything going
again. He had to do some work on his network so that he could get everything going
that he wanted. He ended up having to almost totally redo his home network. As
far as this site, he had to change the IP address, and upgrade the server that this site
is run on. I know that he put in a lot of effort to get this site up and going
again. Thanks Toby!!!!
Now I'll see if I can't get everything caught up on what been going on with us.
6/18/01 - Had a great weekend!! We all went out to the Salt Cellar for dinner Friday night. We all had Alaskan King Crab for dinner and was it ever good! On Saturday, we all went to a Diamond Backs baseball game. The home team won 3-1. On top of that it was a good game. On Sunday morning, we put Nikki on an airplane headed for Spokane so that she could spend some time (about a month) with her Aunt and Uncle, and two cousins. After seeing her plane off we went to the CasinoArizona and had breakfast at their buffet. The food was good, but the machines afterwards, weren't. Didn't do to good, but it was still fun. Overall, it was a great weekend.
6/15/01 - Well, Nikki got her braces put on yesterday. Denise took off so that she could go with her and after they were done, they went shopping. They seemed to have a really good time and bought all kinds of cloths. By the end of the afternoon, the Nikster was hurting a bit. Guess it isn't fun to get new braces. She was a trooper though, and she is hanging in there. We'll see if we can't get a picture of her with her new braces and get it posted on the site for all to see.
6/11/01 - We went to Harrah's Ak-Chin casino on Friday after work, and came home Saturday evening. It is just south of Phoenix and is a very nice place. Spent a bit of time in the casino, and none of us were big winners, but still had a good time. Took a couple pictures of the place, but not much else. You can see them on the Places Picture page.
6/8/01 - Yesterday was Denise's Birthday. We went out the PF Changs for a very nice dinner. Then went home and she opened her presents. She got a gift certificate to Zia records, a pair of PJs, some shirts, and some earrings.
6/8/01 - Didn't hear back on our counter offer, so guess it's a no go.
6/6/01 - We got an offer on the house. It was from an investor, and way below our asking price. So we made a counter offer, that was basically at our bottom line. Now we just wait and see. Not very optimistic, but who knows.....
6/5/01 - We got Nikki's report card in the mail. Check out her grades:
Social
Studies C
Pre Algebra
B
Language Arts A
Life Management A
Pursuit LL&K A
Humanities

Physical Ed.

Way to go, Nik!!!!!!
6/5/01 - Bad news on the house thing. The house that we put the contingent offer in on is gone. The sellers got another offer better than ours and they are going to except it. We aren't in the position to take advantage of our 24 hour right to make a better offer, so it looks like we're in the looking for a house mode once again. We are thinking that maybe we should just wait until we get an offer on our house before we hit the streets again. We're disappointed....
6/3/01 - Went to see the movie Pearl Harbor. Thought it was good.
6/2/01 - Nikki went to a Juniors Cardinals Cheerleading camp Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Saturday, they put on a little show that we went to see. Took some pics., but forgot to bring them in so that I could post them on the site. Look back soon as I will be getting them posted. I got them posted here.
5/29/01 - As this was a holiday weekend, we decided to stay away from the lakes. We did go over to a friends house on Sunday for a birthday party, then on Monday we stayed home and were domestic. No new news on the house saga. Sure wish there was.
5/25/01 - Yesterday was Nikki's last day of school. She is now on her summer vacation, the bum!!!!
5/21/01 - Went to the lake on Saturday. Took a few pics., and you can see them on the Lake Trips picture page.
5/16/01 - Went to see the orthodontist today. He is telling us the Nicole needs braces. OK. Then he told us what it was going to cost. Holy cow!!!! Anyone want to donate to the "Nicole Orthonditic Fund?"
5/14/01 - We went to Oxnard for the weekend. It was Gary's Birthday, and Mothers Day. Had a real good time visiting. We all went out to a nice dinner (no kids) and had a great time telling stories. Created a new web page to show the pictures I took, and for ones in the future. Check it out, Family Visits Picture page.
5/7/01 - What a great weekend! Denise and I went to the lake, ALL BY OURSELVES! What a great time. The weather was just right, not too hot, not too cold. We were out there for around 4 hours, just cruising around, or off an anchor, watching the water. Denise also drove the boat for a good part of the day. Taking her first step to assume the role of boat captain. Then Sunday, she spent about an hour practicing backing the boat up, in preparation for being able to get the trailer in the water so we can get the boat on it. Sorry, but no pics of this trip, was just too relaxed to mess with it.
Had a guy fly in from San Francisco to look at the house, but we haven't heard from our realtor as to how it went. Other than that, no new news on the house thing.
5/3/01 - No new news, really....nothing new on the house we want to get. People are still looking at ours, but we've received no bites, as of yet. We're just hanging in there, chillin' in Phoenix.
4/23/01 - Went to Laughlin for a 3 day weekend. It was our present to Patricia for her birthday. Managed to lose a bunch of money, and take a couple pictures. You can see them on the Places picture page.
4/19/01 - They accepted our offer, sort of. Haven't seen the official paperwork yet, but it sounds like they said yes. They put a limit of July on the offer, plus they are keeping the right to look at other offers. So, if someone comes in with a higher offer, they have to let us know what it is, and give us a chance to raise ours. So in other words, it isn't a done deal, but we sure do have our foot in the door.
4/18/01 - Looks like the people in the house I was speaking of in the 4/12/01 entry changed their minds. They decide that they would in fact consider an offer with a contingency. So we went over again last night, took some pictures (removed them as this house is out of the running now, 6/27/01) and told our realtor that we'd like to make an offer. It should get presented to them tonight, so stay tuned to find out what they have to say. Keep your fingers crossed!
4/15/01 - Spent Easter at Denise's mom's house. Did the Easter Egg hunt, and big dinner.
4/14/01 - Sold the Z. Decided that it wasn't really a good thing to keep around, so I was able to sell it to a fellow Z enthusiast that I had met when I first bought the car. So, we're down one toy. Looks like maybe it's time to go shopping!
4/12/01 - Found another house that we really liked. (Sorry, no picture available.) Asked our Realtor to talk with the listing agent to see if the sellers would think about an offer that would have a contingency in that we would sell our house before buying theirs. They wouldn't go for it, so we think another is going to get away, as this house won't be on the market long.
4/10/01 - We gave our realtor a list of 6 houses that we'd like to take a look at. After he checked things out, 3 of them were already under contract! Guess in this town, you gotta move fast!!!!!
4/10/01 - Created a Site Update page. Future site changes will be noted on the Site Update page, rather than on this page.
4/07/01 - We didn't decide quick enough on the house. By the time we were ready to start talking offer, someone else had beat us to the punch. So now our dreams have changed. There are six in the running, some of which we'll try to actually go inside and see on Tuesday. So, the search continues........
4/01/01 - We've pretty much decided on the house we want to get. Now all we have to do is wait and see if we can get ours sold in time to buy this one.
