For Bob's birthday, we went to Lake Powell.  We took a lot of pictures, so they are on their own page.  Check them out.

We had planned on going to the lake and spending the night. So we got a dog sitter, but as things happen, no one else was able to make it. So, we decided to take advantage of the already planned dog sitter and head for Laughlin for the weekend. We left Friday after work, and came back Sunday. It was so nice to be out with just the two of us. Turned out to be a great weekend! Just about the first thing we put any money in, we won!

Not all of our bets turned out as well as this one, but we did manage to win some more. Bob walked away from the craps table with more money in his pocket. This was his first time playing, too! Denise walked away from the roulette tables a whole dollar ahead. She hit some nice little pots on the slots too. As a matter of fact, she had a ticket like the one above for $75. Over all, we left more money in the casinos than we took home, but it was still a lot of fun.

The drive from Laughlin takes between 4 and 5 hours, depending on traffic. Most of the road is two lane and twists and turns through some really pretty scenery. At one spot, there is a scenic overlook. We stopped and took a couple pictures. The water way down there in the first picture is Burro Creek, and the second is the bridge crossing the creek.

For Denise's birthday, we went to the Harra's Ak-Chin casino.  This place is just about an hour south of Phoenix, and is some place that we will keep in mind for furture get aways.  Didn't take too many pictures, we were too busy putting money in the slots, but here are a couple.

For Patricia's birthday, we took a trip to Laughlin.  We took our boats in hopes that we'd get the chance to make it down to Lake Havasu.  But, alas, the weather didn't cooperate so we spent the entire 3 day weekend in Laughlin.  Lost bunches of money, and didn't get to many pictures.......should have taken more pictures and did less gambling.  Oh well, what we did take is here.

This was our room

For our honeymoon, we went to Margarita Island.  It is off the coast of Venezuela.  For some reason, we didn't take a lot of pictures.  Guess it was because we were to busy relaxing, and doing other honeymoon things.  But, here are the ones we did take

On the way, we had a layover in Dallas:

While the picture isn't all that great, one nice thing we managed to do was play a little pool.  The tables weren't the best, but the atmosphere was fantasitic!

One of our favorite things to do there, relax:

At one of the lounges,

or on the beach.

In August of 2000, we sent to see Matthew graduate from his Army Training.  During the trip we stopped in St. Louis and went to the arch.  We were going to go up, but one of the elevators broke, so we couldn't do that.  We did manage to take a couple pictures though.
